About Dr. Sai Siritharan
Sai is an approachable, down to earth, compassionate GP who enjoys all aspects of General Practice. She has a strong interest in travel and expedition medicine, lifestyle and weight management, women’s health, preconception, antenatal care, paediatrics and adolescent health. Sai is a strong believer in patient centred care and believes every patient should feel empowered and informed to make their own decisions. She ensures her patients are heard and understood during their visits and encourages all patients to take an active approach to their health.
Sai obtained her Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery at James Cook University and was trained locally at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital before undertaking specialist training in General Practice. Sai has completed a Diploma of Child Health at Sydney Children’s Hospital and is accredited to provide Shared Antenatal Care at the Mater Mothers Hospital. She can provide iron infusions and is trained in Implanon insertion and Mirena removal.
Outside of work Sai enjoys an incredibly active lifestyle through training for her IronMan, triathlon and running events. Her favourite event is the Cairns IM 70.3. Training for these events also helps her to achieve her second passion of mountaineering. She has been fortunate to travel around the world with her partner Ben and they’ve summited many peaks in the Swiss and Austrian Alps, Canadian Rockies, New Zealand, Patagonia and the volcanoes in Washington State. She is currently training for climbing in the Himalayas. After these adventures she always loves returning back to her home in Teneriffe and being an active member of her local community
